Misdemeanors and Infractions

There are four classes of misdemeanors with the highest class being A1, examples of which include assault on a female or assault on a government official and the lowest misdemeanors being class 3, examples of which include violating local ordinances or having less than one-half ounce of marijuana in your possession.

Misdemeanors can often carry repercussions that are not foreseeable unless you have an experienced attorney to guide you. Some repercussions are the denial of entrance to the military, deny of a security clearance or a requirement to be registered on the sex offender registry.

Infractions are a single class of offense that, quite simply, carry no risk of jail or prison time. Although less serious for that reason, the financial repercussions, or in some cases the loss of driving privileges, can have very detrimental effects on your livelihood or your family's overall well-being. Something as simple as paying a ticket without negotiating it or knowing its effect can lead to a letter from the DMV telling you to turn your license in. Don't let that happen to you.

Hiring an attorney for any level can help reduce the impact of these charges on your life and record moving forward.
