Felonies - In General

Felonies range from the class A felony of first degree murder down to class I felonies like bigamy, possession of more than one and one-half ounces of marijuana, and leaving a bruise on a law enforcement officer when you hit an officer.

Beyond the possible loss of your freedom for a long time, being convicted of a felony can also lead to other very serious consequences to your life. The loss of the right to own or possess firearms, the entry of your DNA into a nationwide database are two mandatory consequences along with other possible consequences to employment, housing, voting, and student loans.
